WHERE DO NYCT CEMENT TILES COME FROM?

Our cement tiles are handcrafted using traditional methods inspired by 19th-century European and North African designs. Each tile is made with cement, marble powder, and natural pigments.

DOES CEMENT TILE NEED SPECIAL CARE?

Yes. Cement tile is porous and must be sealed before and after grouting. Reseal every 1–2 years depending on use. Always use pH-neutral cleaners.

HOW DO YOU CLEAN CEMENT TILE?

Sweep or vacuum regularly and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid acidic or abrasive products.

HOW DO I INSTALL CEMENT TILES?

Cement tile should be installed by an experienced professional. Below is an overview of the recommended process:

  • Mix tiles from all boxes before installation to distribute natural color and pattern variation evenly.
  • Use a high-quality medium-bed thin-set mortar. Lightly dampen the back of each tile before setting.
  • Set tiles by hand only—do not use mallets—and regularly check for level and alignment.
  • Seal the tiles prior to grouting using 511 Porous Plus Sealer.

  • Grout in small sections with Mapei Flexcolor CQ, cleaning excess grout as you go. Avoid high-contrast grout colors unless using a grout bag.

For interior installations, apply a finishing coat of wax sealer such as Fila Matte Wax for added protection.

  • For exterior installations, apply an additional coat of 511 Porous Plus Sealer after grouting.
