The Carlo Scarpa Terrazzo Inlay is distinguished by solid marble inlays embedded directly into a terrazzo field, forming a refined, continuous surface. Joints are intentionally minimized, allowing the geometry and material contrast to take center stage. The result is a timeless, architectural expression inspired by the work of Carlo Scarpa, where precision, proportion, and material integrity define the design.
Yes. Our tiles are suitable for outdoor and wet-area applications, including pools. The Carlo Scarpa Terrazzo collection can be produced with an R11 anti-slip rating, making it ideal for pool surrounds, showers, and other high-moisture environments when properly specified and installed.
Each tile is composed of a high-strength Portland cement base combined with natural marble aggregates and mineral pigments. Solid marble elements are carefully inlaid, then the tile is hydraulically pressed, cured, rectified, and honed to a smooth matte finish-ensuring both durability and visual refinement.
Routine maintenance is simple:
- Use pH-neutral, non-abrasive cleaners only
- Avoid acidic or harsh chemical products
- Wipe spills promptly to prevent staining
- Reseal periodically based on traffic and exposure
For interior installations, a matte wax finish may be applied for added surface protection and longevity.
